October 07 Surgical Clinic
This is only the second surgery clinic we have ever held in October at Clinica Ezell. The first one was last year, and it was marked by Hurricane Stan's presence. Some of the members of that team are on this team, but they didn't agree to come until we promised that there would be no hurricane this year! Today is Wednesday...and still no hurricane. So far so good.
Team members on this trip have come from such diverse places as Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, New York City, Laramie, Wyoming and Nashville, Tennessee. Regardless of geographics, however, they have bonded quickly and tightly for the purpose of providing the best surgical care they can to these sweet people...all in the name of Jesus Christ.
Others on the team will relay information about the technical aspects of surgery, but I can testify to their hearts. They are to a person kind, caring, and loving. That is especially needed this week because the doctors have had the unfortunate experience of having to diagnose five or six people with cancer so far this week. One dear, sweet little old lady was quite far along with her disease and most likely doesn't have much longer to live. The docs counseled her and her family, prayed with them, and sent her home with a smile on her face. She showed no fear at the thought of meeting her Maker soon. Marie Agee, October 11, 2006
